These handmade organic-styled silver dangle earrings are a unique fusion of nature-inspired design and artisan craftsmanship. Crafted of fine silver metal clay painted onto dried iris seed pods. These were painted on the inside of the pods, where the seeds were held, giving the strange, caterpillar-like appearance. These earrings are a celebration of natural beauty with their timeless elegance and unique design.
>>>Fine silver metal clay is an eco-friendly product made from recycled silver. The metal is pulverized into minute particles and mixed with an organic cellulose binder and water to form a clay. When fired, the binder burns out and what remains is pure or "fine" silver, 99.9% (.999) The clay used here is Art Clay, from Aida Chemicals in Japan, which is a green company.
***Irises are a symbol of enduring faith and hope, a reminder that things will get better. They are also a symbol of wisdom and truth, reminding us to be patient and seek out the true and ethical path. The ancient Greeks associated this flower with the goddess Iris, whose job it was to guide the dead to their eternal home. So irises were planted around a loved one's burial site to summon the goddess. In China, the iris is a symbol of spring, vitality and change. From ancient times to today, people in China believe that irises are protective, keep negative energies away and attract positive. The Japanese people view the iris as a symbol of strength, clarity, and kindness. Ancient Egyptians viewed the iris as a symbol of protection and power and placed them on the tombs of pharaohs to pay respects and protect them as they entered into the afterlife. In the Victorian England, people viewed the iris as a symbol of faith, courage, and admiration. Many historians believe that the French fleur-de-lis is actually based on the yellow iris rather than the lily. There are many varieties and colors of irises, each with their own special meaning. These silver ones will bring you the joy of whichever is your favorite.
***Silver has throughout the ages been thought to have beneficial and protective qualities. It reflects negativity away from the wearer, and enhances patience and perseverance. It attracts and retains the energies of stones set in it.
