This pendant is a replica of a shell I picked up on the beach on the east coast of Florida. It was created using eco-friendly copper metal clay and a mold I made of the shell. The size of the pendant is substantial, about 2 1/2", making it a statement piece that commands attention. The antique verdigris patina is achieved by treating the surface of the copper with a special oxidization process. Over time, this process creates a rich greenish-blue patina that mimics the natural weathering of copper exposed to the elements. The patina adds a sense of history and character to the pendant, giving it an aged and timeless look. The pendant is suspended from a hand-knotted chain of chunky blue-green dragonskin agate. The creamy color of the agate along with its swirling veins blends beautifully with the warm hues of the copper and the patina. The necklace is finished with a heavy copper chain and a beautiful copper S-hook embellished with aquaterra jasper.
